Skin/ Weaving Memories was my first foray into Mixed Media Textiles in my First Year. Using found materials and my new crochet skills, I built a web of my memories, my identity and a brief look into my understanding of Afro Surrealism. This display features a crown made of plastic bags and wire; made in response to my relationship with my hair and the out of body experiences I've had in relation to the visible parts of my race. Beside it is a construction of papers and fabrics that link to my coming of age experience. Below is an upcycled bra and an illustration on the theme of "Love Covers All Skin" and looks to the way I view my body now in its transness.
